WEmentors

We sponsor WEmentors, a component of the University of Vermont’s Wellness Environment, which helps UVM students build connections and create relationships. WEmentors is funded by the Vermont Caring for Children Foundation.

UVM students participating in WEmentors receive training to become a mentor, and then mentor younger students. The program is done in partnership with the Vermont Center for Children, Youth and Families and nearby schools.

WEmentor’s mission is to cultivate mentoring relationships centered on fitness, mindfulness, and good nutrition. WEmentors creates positive outcomes for both mentors and mentees by focusing on health and wellbeing.

Mentors and mentees meet throughout the year for one hour per week. Mentoring sessions include activities such as attending sports events, cooking, and visiting local attractions.
