Take Micro-breaks With Be Well Vermont

Learn how to take micro breaks -- anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes -- to help reduce physical strain and mental fatigue.

Don’t have time for a full workout? Rather not drive to the gym? You can still get some exercise in only a few minutes, without leaving your home or office.

Taking micro-breaks is a great way to move your body when time and space are limited. These very short breaks from work—anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes—help you reduce physical strain and mental fatigue.

Popular micro-breaks include stretching, practicing deep breathing, and doing quick exercises like pushups and squats.

Our Be Well Vermont digital platform can help you take micro-breaks with a variety of instructional videos. Here are some examples of micro-break videos on Be Well Vermont:

  • Three seated mobility moves to release tension
  • Two-minute energizing breathwork exercise
  • Four strength exercises for balance
  • Five simple moves to reset your posture
  • Ten desk stretches to release tension
