Personal Health Support Services

Blue Cross registered nurses and licensed clinicians take time to get to know you and provide personalized guidance. We can help you get the most out of your next visit with your provider, understand your benefits, feel better, and achieve your health goals.

Our personal health support services can help you with managing your health regarding:

  • Addiction: Recovery is possible if you are struggling with addiction. We help you get started by connecting you with providers and services that meet your needs.
  • Cancer support: A cancer diagnosis can affect your physical and emotional wellness. We listen with care and work with you to find the support you need during treatment and beyond.
  • Chronic and complex conditions: If you are living with one or more ongoing conditions, we help you manage treatment details and reach your wellness goals. We understand the needs of people with common and rare conditions and those who have multiple diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • End-of-life care: Our team is ready to help our members and their families through the final stages of life. We provide compassionate support so that the end-of-life needs of the person are met — physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical.
  • Maternity care: We help expectant moms give their babies the best possible start in life, including through our maternal health and wellness program, Better Beginnings®. Even if this isn’t your first pregnancy, find out how we can support you and your growing family.
  • Mental health: Anxiety, stress, depression, and other mental health concerns are common and treatable. We connect you with providers and other resources to help you reclaim peace of mind and live well.
  • Transgender support: We support gender-affirming care for our members. Beyond providing guidance and coordination, our team can refer you to providers who understand the primary care needs of transgender individuals.

Better Beginnings® Maternal Health and Wellness Program

Our Better Beginnings maternal health and wellness program helps expectant mothers receive comprehensive care and timely support. Experienced nurses coordinate the services you need and provide helpful guidance. We are here for you during pregnancy and your baby’s first weeks of life.

Our Better Beginnings program comes with additional benefits, including:

  • Reimbursement for childbirth and newborn classes: You can receive up to $125 in reimbursement after completing paid education sessions on topics like breastfeeding (chestfeeding), childbirth, and parenting.
  • Free breast pump: If you plan on breastfeeding, our Better Beginnings nurse will explain how you can get a breast pump from us at no cost.
  • Early enrollment reward: Sign up for Better Beginnings before you are 34 weeks pregnant and receive extra benefits. Offerings include fitness classes, help at home, or infant car seat reimbursement of up to $150.

We make it easy to receive the support and services you need. A mobile app enables you to communicate directly with your Better Beginnings nurse. It also includes a personalized checklist and information to guide you through all stages of your pregnancy.

After delivering your baby, our Better Beginnings nurse helps you access additional providers and services, including:

  • Home health nurses
  • Lactation consultants
