Virtual, Advanced Joint Pain Care

We have partnered with Hinge Health to provide members with a new plan benefit—helping them manage their joint and back pain digitally. This digital musculoskeletal (MSK) services are an added benefit to most Blue Cross Vermont health plans. The Hinge Health digital MSK solution has helped to reduce pain, surgeries and opioid use by pairing wearable sensors and computer vision technology with a comprehensive care team of physical therapists, physicians and health coaches.

Types of Care Provided

• Prevention: Job-specific exercises that are guided through the Hinge Health app and include education to learn healthy habits and prevent injury.
• Acute: Customized exercise therapy for injury resolution; includes access to one-on-1one physical therapy video visits.
• Chronic: A 12-week intensive program that provides annual access to personalized technology-guided exercise therapy, physical therapy video visits, one-on-one health coaching, and personalized education.
• Surgical Rehab: A one-month pre-surgery and three-months post-surgery program that includes
  personalized exercise therapy, physical therapy video visits, and one-on-one health coaching.
• EMO: Free access to an expert physician opinion before members commit to unnecessary elective MSK surgery
