By signing up for Medicare Part B when you’re first eligible, you can avoid paying a late penalty (your Part B premium comes out of your Social Security check). Plus, you’ll be able to enroll in the Vermont Medigap Blue plan of your choice before your birthday.
Medicare Supplement plans, like Vermont Medigap Blue, work with Original Medicare to provide you with more complete protection. Medicare Advantage plans (also called Medicare Part C plans) provide coverage through a specific network of doctors and hospitals.
If you're still working at 65, and you have coverage under a group health plan through an employer, check with your benefits administrator. You probably don't have to enroll in Medicare until you retire.
Medicare Part A & Part B do not cover most prescription drugs. That’s why we also offer Blue MedicareRx prescription drug plans (Part D).
