Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Welcomes New Board Members

Berlin, Vermont–Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (Blue Cross) is pleased to welcome Jason Robart and Karin Chamberlain to the non-profit health and wellness organization’s board of directors. They bring a dynamic knowledge of health care and finance.
Jason Robart is the co-founder of health care advisory and venture capital firm Seae Ventures. The company is dedicated to building and investing in early stage health care technology and services companies primarily founded by women and people who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Prior to leading Seae, he was a senior executive with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He was responsible for their National Account business, and served as Chief Human Resources Officer, Senior Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness, and as the Chief Strategy Officer. He also helped to create and lead Zaffre Investments.
A graduate of Middlebury College with a Certificate in Private Equity & Venture Capital from Harvard Business School, Robart lives in Cornwall, Vermont. He serves on the boards of Eastview at Middlebury, a retirement community, and Middlesex School, a private high school in the Boston area.
Karin Chamberlain is the director of Impact Investments at Clean Yield Asset Management in Norwich. Clean Yield is an SEC-registered investment advisory firm working exclusively with social investors. Karin oversees private placement and community investment initiatives with a focus on social justice, sustainable timber, renewable energy, food and regenerative agriculture. She serves on the executive team of Slow Money Vermont, as a council member of the Vermont Women’s Fund, and as an active member of the Near Equity/Alternative Lender Group.
A sustainability expert, she strives toward impact investing with a focus that includes food and regenerative agriculture, community investment and social justice, Indigenous Peoples, and Latin America.
Chamberlain holds a Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College and Master of Arts in Economics, International Environmental Policy and International Law and Development from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. A guest lecturer on sustainable business and investing at local business schools, she has also been a judge for impact investing and social entrepreneurship contests.
